Experience Deep Improv…Stories of Kindness

Join us for some surprising, unexpected and unconventional theatre on Sunday, May 4 with Bay Area Playback Theater.

Take a break from this sometimes-ruthless world and share your real-life stories of caring, kindness and compassion. Experience a unique form of improvisational theater where your stories or dreams are brought to life on the spot by our talented actors and musicians, using movement, music, drama, comedy and improvised spoken word.

Who are we and what is Playback improv?

Bay Area Playback Theater, based in Marin, is an improvisational theatre group founded in 2003. We create audience-interactive performances involving storytelling by audience members and improvised enactments by our talented troupe of actors and musicians.

Playback improv is performed in over 50 countries for people of all ages, backgrounds, experiences… and for anyone with a story to tell. These real-life stories may be funny or sad, memories from long ago or yesterday. Playback, with its emphasis on deep listening and empathy, builds trust and connections between people by honoring the dignity, drama and universality of their stories.
