The Marin Arts Council connects artists and organizations to opportunities of all sorts. This section of our web site contains just a brief sample of listings from our bi-monthly "Artist Opportunities" publication. The full version of "Artist Opportunities" contains hundreds of listings and is a benefit of membership in the Marin Arts Council.   • Marin Arts Council Fund for Artists Grants totaling over $100,000 annually, encouraging the creation of new work and community art projects.
  • Marin Arts Council Exhibits Program. Do you have an idea for an exhibit? Do you have 5 or more Marin County artists who could collectively come up with 60 to 120 pieces of artwork? We want to talk to you! The Marin Arts Council schedules 8-10 group exhibits per year at the Marin County Civic Center, Marin Community Foundation and the Redwood Foyer of the Marin Veteran’s Auditorium. Exhibits run from 2-6 months and are seen by a variety of viewers. Exhibits are chosen by application process.

  • Deadline: July 16, 2008 - The San Francisco Arts Commission is seeking to establish a pre-qualified pool of professional artists for consideration for a variety of public art projects located at San Francisco International Airport. We encourage artists using a variety of artistic approaches and media to apply. With the opening of the new International Terminal in 2000, the old international terminal, Terminal 2, closed. Terminal 2 is now being completely remodeled as a domestic terminal, with Virgin America being the primary carrier that will fly out of the terminal when construction is complete. The remodeled terminal will provide multiple opportunities for artists working in a variety of media. Project opportunities may include, but are not limited to:
    -The glass curtain wall at the entry of the terminal
    - Suspended artworks
    - Artworks that feature the use of either or both artificial and natural light

    Applications available through CaFÉ; www.callforentry.org, an on-line application system for calls for entry. There is no charge to artists for using CaFÉ. If you are a first time user of CaFÉ, please allow adequate time to learn the use of this system.
